Police in Ho Chi Minh city are conducting an urgent investigation to locate and arrest a group of suspects involved in a brazen robbery at a jewelry store.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on the morning of May 29 at a jewelry shop located on D1 Street in Dong An Quarter, Tan Dong Hiep Ward.
Business activities at the store were proceeding normally when the robbery took place.
Witnesses reported that two men arrived at the store on a motorcycle. After briefly observing the surroundings, they entered the premises.
Within seconds, the suspects pulled out hammers and repeatedly struck the glass display cases containing gold jewelry. The sound of shattering glass caused panic among employees and customers inside the store.
After breaking the display cabinets, the suspects quickly grabbed a quantity of gold and other valuables. The entire robbery lasted only a short time.
The men then fled the scene on their motorcycle before authorities could respond.
The incident shocked nearby residents and business owners. Several witnesses stated that the suspects appeared organized and acted with confidence, suggesting that the crime may have been planned in advance.
Upon receiving the report, local police officers immediately arrived at the scene. The area was secured to allow investigators to conduct a forensic examination and collect evidence.
Investigators documented the scene, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed footage from surveillance cameras installed both inside the store and in surrounding areas. Multiple police teams were deployed to track the suspects’ movements after they fled.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has directed specialized units, including criminal investigation officers, to coordinate efforts and carry out an intensive search for the perpetrators.
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the financial loss suffered by the jewelry store. The exact amount of gold stolen has not yet been officially confirmed.
Investigators are also working to determine the specific roles of each individual involved and whether additional accomplices participated in planning or facilitating the robbery.
