Police in Lam Dong Province have initiated criminal proceedings against two owners of a fashion store in Da Lat for allegedly infringing industrial property rights through the sale of counterfeit products.
According to investigators, authorities discovered that a clothing store operated by N.A.N. and V.T.T.H. in Xuan Huong Ward was displaying and selling jackets bearing trademarks of several well-known fashion brands.
Vietnam detective, A subsequent inspection led to the seizure of hundreds of suspected counterfeit items.
At the time of the inspection, the store owners were unable to provide invoices or documents proving the lawful origin of the merchandise.
The seized goods were later estimated to have a total value of nearly VND 500 million.
During questioning, the two suspects admitted that they had purchased the jackets from other sources and then attached labels of famous fashion brands before offering the products for sale in order to generate profit.
Based on the evidence collected, the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Provincial Police decided to prosecute both individuals for the offense of infringing industrial property rights under Vietnamese law.
Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation to determine the origin of the counterfeit products and identify any additional individuals or organizations involved in the case.
