A woman has been handled by authorities after impersonating a police officer to defraud an acquaintance of more than VND 400 million.
Danang detectives, according to investigators, the suspect exploited a personal relationship to gain the victim’s trust.
She falsely claimed to be a police officer and provided misleading information about her ability to “handle” legal issues or influence case outcomes.
Believing these claims, the victim transferred money multiple times in the hope of receiving assistance.
Throughout the scheme, the suspect repeatedly fabricated reasons to request additional payments, prolonging the process and increasing the total amount taken.
In total, the victim lost more than VND 400 million, Danang private detective agency.
After noticing irregularities and failing to receive the promised results, the victim reported the case to the police.
Authorities later determined that all information provided by the suspect was fabricated.
The case is currently under further investigation for legal handling in accordance with regulations.
