The La Lay international border post discovered a case of illegal transportation of fireworks across the border.
At 4:40 p.m. on January 2, 2025, at the La Lay international border gate, A Ngo commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province, Vietnam.
The border guard force coordinated with the customs force to discover a coal tractor with Lao license plate UN1635, pulling a trailer UN 1704 with suspicious signs.
The functional force discovered that the driver, Ho Duy Van, had hidden 108 boxes of explosive fireworks on the coal truck, with a total weight of nearly 200kg.
According to Van’s statement, he was hired by a person in Savannakhet province to transport fireworks to Vietnam for a fee of 10 million VND.
The case is being further investigated and handled by the authorities according to the provisions of law.
