Kien Giang: Dispose of drugs when encountering the police

According to the investigation, on April 12, Tran and Loc were traveling in two cars from Long Xuyen city to An Bien District.

On National Highway 63 in Hung Yen Commune, the two saw the police blockade and quickly threw two bags of drugs out of the car, intending to destroy the evidence.

The police raided and caught them red-handed, two bags of essence disguised in tea bags tested positive for synthetic drugs.

Tran and Loc admitted their actions, saying they were delivering drugs to an unknown buyer in An Bien District when they were discovered.

The Criminal police department of Da Nang police has prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Nhu Rin, 39 years old, residing in Binh Dinh province.

This person was arrested to investigate the act of fraud and appropriation of property.

According to the investigation, in July 2023, Rin knew that a woman in Da Nang city needed to do procedures for a Certificate of Land Use Rights, so she approached her.

She lied that she was a high-ranking official who could handle the procedures for the red book, to the city leaders in Da Nang.

The victim trusted her and handed over the land records in Lien Chieu district and gave Rin 25 million VND in advance.

Rin continued to text and call through unofficial phone numbers, even impersonating Da Nang leaders to gain trust, continuously promising that “the records are almost done”.

From July 2023 to June 2024, the victim transferred money to Rin many times, a total of 900 million VND.

Rin did not take care of the land procedures and spent all this money, now unable to pay back this money.

Arrested for snatching a gold necklace in Ho Chi Minh city

Hanoi: Arrest of man who attacked neighbor with knife

Hanoi city police are temporarily detaining Nguyen Chi Dung, 52 years old, in Gia Lam district, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Mong Cai: Arrest of subject illegally transporting 4kg of gold

At about 11:00 a.m. on April 17, 2025, during an inspection at the Mong Cai international border gate.

The authorities discovered that Pham Thi Van Anh (41 years old, residing in Mong Cai) had hidden 4 gold-colored metal bars on her person.

According to a Vietnamese private detective agency, these four bars are suspected to be pure gold.

These metal bars were not declared to the customs authority according to regulations in Vietnam.

Through initial inspection, the Border Guard determined that the 4 metal bars had the symbol Au 999.9, with a total weight of 4kg.

Pham Thi Van Anh confessed that the above amount of gold was hired by a woman named Quynh to transport from China to Vietnam through Mong Cai border gate to receive payment.

The Border Guard Station of Mong Cai international border gate made a record and seized the evidence.

The authorities completed the initial records and coordinated with the People’s Procuracy of Mong Cai City to issue a decision to temporarily detain the subject.

Transporting more than 30 kg of drugs for wages
