Earlier, a Facebook post claimed that a child abduction had occurred in Tân Thạnh and Thanh Bình communes.
The information quickly spread across social media and caused concern among residents.
The post attracted significant attention and created public anxiety in the locality, Vietnam detective agency.
However, after conducting checks and verification, the police confirmed that no child abduction had occurred as described in the post.
Authorities also determined that the account that published the information was a fake account.
Police advised the public to be cautious when receiving information on social media and not to share unverified content to avoid causing unnecessary public concern.
