Authorities in Hai Phong, in coordination with Ha Tinh Provincial Police, arrested a suspect upon his arrival at Cat Bi International Airport after his flight from Ho Chi Minh City landed. The individual is alleged to be involved in a fraud case and was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to investigators, the suspect, Pham Ngoc Anh born in 1987, residing in Ha Dong Commune, Hai Phong, is under investigation for his alleged involvement in a large-scale fraud case spanning multiple localities.
Following an investigation, Ha Tinh Provincial Police identified him as playing a direct role in the scheme and coordinated with local authorities to carry out the arrest.
Using investigative measures, police determined that Pham Ngoc Anh had booked a seat on VietJet Air flight VJ282 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong, which was scheduled to land at Cat Bi Airport on the evening of July 6.
After receiving the information, Hai Phong Police’s Immigration Management Division instructed airport security officers to prepare an operational plan and deploy personnel to apprehend the suspect as soon as the aircraft arrived.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. that evening, the task force successfully arrested Pham Ngoc Anh in the airport terminal.
He was subsequently transferred to the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Provincial Police for further investigation and legal proceedings in accordance with Vietnamese law.
