Police in Da Nang have arrested Wang Tiejun, a 48-year-old foreign national, for allegedly robbing a female casino manager staying in the city.
Danang private detective services, according to investigators, the incident occurred on June 14 at a hotel on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Danang.
While the victim was waiting for an elevator, the suspect approached her from behind, covered her head with plastic and cloth bags, seized her handbag, and fled the scene.
The stolen property included an iPhone 15, cash, and several valuable cards.
After receiving the report, criminal police officers quickly launched an investigation, reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence.
Authorities later identified Wang Tiejun as the primary suspect. He was arrested on June 16.
Although he initially denied involvement, he eventually confessed after being confronted with evidence collected during the investigation.
During questioning, the suspect admitted that financial difficulties motivated the crime.
Knowing that the victim frequently carried valuable belongings, he allegedly monitored her movements before carrying out the robbery and prepared various items to conceal his identity.
Wang Tiejun is currently being held on charges of robbery, while police continue to investigate the case and complete legal proceedings.
