Tra Vinh provincial police, Vietnam, has temporarily detained Nguyen Tuan Mong, 31 years old, residing in Long Huu commune, Duyen Hai town.
Vietnam detective service agency, this person was temporarily detained for the crime of abusing trust to appropriate property.
According to the investigation results, Mong is an officer of a commercial bank branch in Tra Vinh, Vietnam.
During the years 2018-2023, Mong repeatedly assisted Ms. P. in completing procedures to borrow money from the bank.
In April 2023, Mrs. P. continued to ask Mong for support in completing a loan application for 5 billion VND.
Mong asked Mrs. P. to transfer the land use rights certificate to him before agreeing to support. Mrs. P. trusted and agreed to Mong’s request.
The subject used the land documents transferred by Mrs. P. as collateral to the bank where he worked, borrowing nearly 4 billion VND.
Ho Chi Minh detective service, Mong did not hand over the borrowed money to Mrs. P. but used it to pay off personal debts.
In order to appropriate the above amount of money, Mong created a false agreement document stating that Mrs. P. lent him money without a term.
Knowing that she had been deceived, Mrs. P. reported Mong’s actions to the police. Ho Chi Minh detective agency, the case is being investigated according to regulations.
