Nguyen Thien Dai, 56 years old, and his family members insulted and attacked the police and the working group measuring the disputed land.
Dai was arrested by Khanh Vinh district police for the crime of resisting people performing official duties, according to Article 330 of the Penal Code in Vietnam.
The investigation agency continues to clarify the violations of those involved.
On the morning of January 19, 2024, Khanh Dong Commune Police supported the working group of Khanh Hoa Provincial Court to inspect the scene and measure land to resolve the land dispute case.
This man’s family prevented, scolded, challenged, and insulted the working group.
The investigation agency alleges that when the working group was on the way to the People’s Committee headquarters, Dai and four family members followed by car and continued to curse and livestream.
These people then blocked the vehicle of the authorities, rushed in and pinned a police officer by the neck.
The police had to use pepper spray to stop Dai’s group’s actions.
When the working group drove the car to leave, Dai and his relatives got in the car to block the way.
Khanh Dong commune police had to dispatch a public service vehicle to support and guide the working group out of Khanh Dong commune.
